Aboriginal Art

When we started this project 1st and 2nd graders could not even pronounce the word Aboriginal. Ask them about it now and they can tell you it is art from Australia, it has dots, it has patterns and it has animals. They can also explain why dots were used and how Aboriginal art is different from other kinds of art. This was a time consuming project, but WOW the results are gorgeous!!

Civil War Landscapes

5th grade just learned all about the Civil War and many of its key figures. In art, students learned about how to draw things realistically and learned the terms background, middle ground and foreground. They know things in the background appear TINY and things in the foreground appear HUGE. They used the Civil War as inspiration for their landscapes
