8th Grade Claymations

The Iowa Hawkeyes spent 2.5 weeks creating animations. They worked collaboratively (or together as table teams) to think of a plot, make the set, make the characters, and take photos. The way claymation works is by taking photos of clay objects, moving them slightly, then taking another photo. This give the appearance of motion.

Here is the link for the claymation and below are some photos of the students working on them!

Here you see one group member using the iPad to take photos and the other members moving the characters

8th Grade pop-Art Inspired Paintings

The 8th grade enrichment group, the Ohio Buckeyes, recently learned about Pop-Art its histories and traits. One of the defining elements of Pop-Art is its use of color-bright bold color. 8th graders learned how to use color in an intentional way using color scheme.

Students chose an icon- a symbol that was important to them and drew it multiple times. Then they painted each section in a different color scheme.
