Cities...in Perspective

7th graders learned how to draw in perspective, meaning they were able to transform a 2-d drawing to appear 3-d by giving height, width and depth to their forms. Students needed to create a city, either from a traditional standpoint or from a bird's eye view. Students needed to give their cities a specific theme as well, to make it appear unique--they did a great job!

Paul Klee cities

First graders learned about artist Paul Klee (pronounced Paul Klay). He created colorful abstract geometric cities.

First graders learned the difference between a shape and a line. They learned how to use a ruler to create large shapes and then divide the large shapes into even smaller sections to create their own geometric cities in the style of Paul Klee.
