What did Ms. Schubow do this summer?

Hello and a huge welcome back to Bucktown for the 2014-2015 school year! This year is going to be the best year yet!

I am especially excited for this year because there has been TONS more art time built into the schedule (All students have art for 60 minutes, and most students will have art twice a week each mont).  This means students dive deeper into art making skills, processes and concepts-- I can't wait to see what they do!

I hope everyone had an amazing summer! Here are a few snaps from my summer. Enjoy!

Of course, I had my garden (My first garden at my new(ish) apartment where I built new beds.

I had fun in the city with my friends

I went to the Mars Cheese Castle in Wisconsin and got some cheese curds!

At an art museum with one of my favorite artists, Kehinde Wiley

And of course I spent time with my family and my cutie nieces!

What did Ms. Schubow do this summer? Tons of stuff! Check it out!

Welcome Back to the new 2013-2014 school year! I had a very relaxing summer that involved the usual bike-riding, gardening and art making with a few fun adventures thrown in.

While summer was great, I am very excited to begin this new school year! I have a feeling it's going to be Bucktown's most successful year yet.

As always if you need to contact me you can email me at vschubow@distinctiveschools.org.

Enjoy the photos!

I gardened of course, here is my tomato color spectrum

I visited the Garfield Park Conservatory, have you ever been there?

I moved into this cute blue apartment!

I took a watercolor class--it was very hard! Here is my second watercolor painting I made

I rode my bike down lakeshore drive. (No cars were present)

Oh yeah, and I went to cat circus. That's right, a cat circus. Feel free to ask me questions about what that means!
