8th grade Plushies: complete!

8th graders have been working hard on their sewing skills to create Plushies, or stuffed sculptures. Most students had 0 sewing experience prior to this project. Students created every aspect of their plushies; this involved thinking of an idea, creating a pattern (an actual sized blue print of their plushie on paper, which they used to trace onto fabric), cutting out the fabric, sewing every piece of fabric and of course stuffing their plushies! They worked very hard and the results are the bomb.com!

Here a student is taking a sip of her Plushie milkshake. Complete with a cherry on top of course!

Love the tail sticking out on the back!

This Plushie was 3-d to the MAX. This student took the time to cut and sew extra fabric to ensure it shape was as cube-like as possible

Love the dual-sided nature of this plushie

For those that don't know, this is bacon pizza!

I love how this student used inverse colors on each side

Lights, Camera, FASHION!

5th graders had a mission to design 3 outfits for 1 person with a common motif, or theme. They did a lot of pre-writing and designing, spent several weeks perfecting their outfits, and then reflected on their work as designers. I know I would LOVE to wear some of these outfits!
