Color Mixing experiment

4th graders are learning about color mixing. They learned about the 3 primary colors, red, yellow, blue, and they knew that when mixed together, they made different colors. They began the experiment by making several hypotheses of what would happen when you mixed certain colors, red and blue for example. Then students worked together as tables to see what actually happens. They received kits with food coloring and water and cups, and it was their job to mix the primary colors and write the results. They had a blast and took control over their own learning to determine the secondary colors!

When students were done creating secondary colors, they got to experiment with the colors in any  way they pleased, often mixing ALL colors together!
